The spring is here, and for me, it always feels like a mini New Year. Nature is waking up, the flowers are blooming, the days are getting longer… and I feel even more motivated to implement or continue all my healthy habits and self-care routines.

In honor of spring, today, I want to talk about my favorite beauty and self-care habits. These are the things I do daily that make me feel my best. And when I feel good, life just feels better. You feel more amazing, more energized, and you can give more to the people you love.

This is something I’m truly passionate about, and honestly, I could probably write a whole book on it! But I’ve condensed everything into 10 key points that I want to share with you. I hope you find these tips helpful and can apply some of them to your own life so that we can all live happier, healthier, more balanced, and love-filled lives. That’s my goal.

Why Self Care Is Important?

And I want to start by saying this: we literally have one life. One life, you guys. This is something I remind myself of whenever I feel stressed, fearful, or down on myself. I literally tell myself that in 100 years, I won’t be here anymore. Realistically, it will be much sooner than that, but 100 years is just what I say to put things into perspective.

That thought alone shifts so much for me. It makes me stop and ask myself: Is this really worth stressing over? I find this especially helpful when I’m feeling insecure, doubting myself, or afraid of judgment. It brings me back to the present moment and takes away so much unnecessary pressure.

I wanted to start with this because we have one life, and we should make it a beautiful one—filled with goodness, positivity, and progress. Despite limiting beliefs, negativity from certain friends, family, or even the media, we have to keep moving toward the life we envision for ourselves. And on that journey, taking care of yourself is essential. When you feel good, you have the strength to keep going in a positive direction.

1. Nourish Your Body With Healthy Food.

The first thing I want to talk about is nourishing your body. You guys know how passionate I am about this topic, and that’s because it’s literally the foundation of your life. You live within your body, and it’s constantly regenerating itself—old cells are dying, new cells are forming, and those new cells are built from the food you eat. That’s why it’s so important to fuel yourself with whole, fresh, and natural foods.

Try to cook and prepare most of your meals at home so you can see exactly what’s going into them—and so you can put your own love into your food as well. And of course, staying hydrated is key. I’m sure you already know all of this, but it’s such an important part of self-care that I have to mention it.

That said, balance is just as important. When it comes to self-care and overall well-being, having a healthy relationship with food is crucial. Being too restrictive can actually cause stress, which may end up giving you the opposite results of what you’re trying so hard to achieve.

The key is to find a balance that works for you. What works for me might not be the best for you, and that’s okay. The goal is to nourish your body in a way that supports your life, fuels your energy, and provides the best possible building blocks for your health.

2. Allow Yourself To Be Silly & Nostalgic At Times.

I find that we’re all living such busy lives. My days can sometimes feel so hectic—jumping from my morning habits to work, then cooking, sports, and spending time with my husband. But one of my favorite self-care habits is to pause, slow down, and reflect on everything I’ve accomplished so far.

I often think back to my teenage self, dreaming about the life I have now. I remember being shy, struggling with self-acceptance, and doubting myself. That’s why I believe it’s so important to take a moment to acknowledge how far we’ve come—to give ourselves a little pat on the back. Not just for material achievements, but for our growth, mindset, and personal victories. Maybe a few years ago, you lacked confidence, and now you’ve found your voice. That deserves recognition too.

One thing I love to do is look at old pictures from my teenage years or rewatch the shows I used to love. It instantly brings me back to my younger self—her thoughts, her dreams, her little world. It’s such a sweet reminder of how much has changed.

It’s also fun to look back and think, “Oh, little did you know…” or even laugh at my old fashion choices. I encourage you to have these moments too! Taking a step back into the past every now and then helps us slow down and truly appreciate the journey we’re on.

3. Get A Habit Of Moving Your Body Everyday.

The next beauty and self-care habit that I swear by is movement and getting out into nature. Physically moving my body—even if it’s just going for a walk—gets the blood flowing, delivers oxygen to all of my cells, and is incredibly energizing. Movement is essential for so many functions in the body, and I truly believe it plays a huge role in how we feel day to day.

I love challenging myself a few times a week with different workout classes like body pump, spinning, or boot camp-style training. Pushing my body in these ways doesn’t just make me feel physically stronger—it builds mental strength too. There’s something so rewarding about finishing a tough workout and thinking, Wow, I did that. That sense of accomplishment isn’t just physical; it’s mental. You start to realize that the discipline and resilience you build in fitness can be applied to so many other areas of life.

That said, I also love more gentle forms of movement like Pilates, yoga, and walking. And let me just say—walking alone is an amazing full-body exercise. It’s free, it’s accessible, and it’s something you can do every day. Never underestimate the power of a good walk!

I also try to incorporate small ways to stay active throughout my day—taking the stairs instead of the elevator, parking a little farther from my destination, or simply choosing to walk when possible. One of my favorite things to do in the summer is biking. My husband and I take our bikes into the city, even if we’re heading to a restaurant. It’s such an enjoyable, easy way to add movement to our day. Plus, that natural release of endorphins from exercise makes the whole experience even better. Whether it’s biking, walking, or a full workout, the key is to keep moving—your body and mind will thank you for it!

4. Prioritize The Quality Sleep For The Glow-up.

My next beauty and self-care habit that I swear by is getting good sleep. Sleep is one of those things that often gets overlooked when it comes to health, wellness, and even beauty. There’s a reason why people call it beauty sleep—it’s the time when our body goes into deep healing and regeneration, repairing what needs fixing. So much happens while we sleep, and I’m sure you already know how important it is. But the real challenge? Actually getting quality sleep.

One thing that really works for me is having a simple evening routine that I stick to every night. It’s nothing complicated or overwhelming—just a few small rituals that make a huge difference. One of my must-haves is an evening shower with a body wash that has a scent I love—something calming and relaxing. I’ve talked about this before, but for me, showering isn’t just about cleansing my body—it’s about cleansing my mind and emotions too. I literally feel like I’m washing the day away, letting go of stress, negativity, or anything that upset me. When I step out, I feel fresh, clean, and new.

Another simple but powerful ritual is having a warm cup of tea. It might seem small, but honestly, a good cup of tea is like a hug for your soul. Something like mint, chamomile, ginger, or a bedtime blend can be incredibly soothing and really helps signal to my body that it’s time to unwind.

I also make a conscious effort to put my phone and laptop away before bed. Giving myself that screen-free time allows my mind to settle, making it so much easier to fall asleep. I’ll dim the lights, maybe put on some soft music, or read a book—which always makes me sleepy if I read for long enough!

And for nights when my mind just won’t settle, I love listening to a guided evening meditation or sleep meditation. There are so many great ones on YouTube, and they really help me quiet my thoughts. Instead of focusing on the million things running through my head, I focus on the voice and the music, and before I know it, I’m asleep—usually within 20 minutes.

These small habits make such a huge difference. I fall asleep earlier, my sleep is deeper, and when I wake up, I feel truly rested. And the benefits? More energy, better skin, brighter eyes, and just an overall healthier body. Sleep is everything, and taking care of it is one of the best things you can do for yourself!

5. Habit Of Allowing Your Feminine, Sexy Self To Shine

One of the things I absolutely love to do is dance in front of the mirror! I put on some feminine, sensual music and just let my body move however it wants. And the best part? I don’t do it for anyone—not even my husband!

This little ritual awakens my sensual, feminine self, and I carry that feeling with me throughout the day. It gives me confidence, makes me feel more connected to myself, and honestly, it just makes life more enjoyable. We all have moments when we deal with unpleasant situations—whether it’s with friends, family, or coworkers. But this practice helps me detach from the stress of daily life and adds a little extra spice to my world.

6. Positive Self-Talk & Affirmations

The next habit I want to talk about is more of a mindset—a relationship you build with your body and what that means mentally. This is such a big one for me because it really stems from self-love, self-respect, and treating your body as if it belonged to someone you truly adored. Imagine if it were a little baby you were caring for—you’d nurture it with so much love, gentleness, and attention. That same mentality should apply to how we treat ourselves because, in a way, our body is its own entity.

We have our mind, our thoughts, our decisions—the things we want to do. And then we have our body, which has its own needs and limits. Maybe mentally, it sounds exciting to go out partying every night, work all day, build a business, spend time with family, work out, and still keep up with every show on Netflix. But realistically, our body can’t always keep up with that.

That’s why balance is so important—aligning what excites you with taking care of the vessel that allows you to experience life. A huge part of this is managing stress. Stress ages us like nothing else. It doesn’t matter what creams, treatments, or wellness rituals you do—if you’re constantly overwhelmed, your body will feel the effects.

This is where mindfulness comes in. Pay attention to when you’re getting stressed—could you handle certain situations better? Could you make small adjustments to feel more at ease? Prioritizing relaxation and calmness will help your body function better, and when your body functions better, you feel better. Your digestion improves, your energy levels rise, your mood lifts, and your skin looks healthier. You’ll radiate vibrancy simply by creating more peace in your life.

That also means letting go of fears, negativity, and people who drain your energy. If there are relationships in your life that leave you feeling exhausted, it’s okay to step back. You have the power to create an environment that supports the life you want. And when you feel lighter and more at peace, you’ll be more in tune with your higher self—that inner voice that always knows the way. But when we’re cluttered with negativity and other people’s opinions, it becomes so much harder to hear that voice.

So treat yourself with love. Be gentle with yourself. Your body will appreciate it and reward you with vitality, clarity, and an overall sense of well-being.

7. Find A Quiet Moment For Yourself

My next self-care habit that I swear by is taking time for yourself—especially in the morning. For me, there’s something so peaceful about that early stillness. The air is calm, and everything feels slow and quiet. I love having that time before I need to be “on” and fully engaged with the day.

So I wake up slowly, take my time getting out of bed, brush my teeth, and make my lemon water. I stay in this almost meditative state, still feeling relaxed from sleep. I don’t like waking up and immediately rushing into a busy day—I prefer to ease into it. That’s why I wake up earlier, just so I can have that quiet time to myself, allowing my mind to switch on gently rather than feeling bombarded with tasks and responsibilities.

Taking time for yourself will look different for everyone. For Mo and me, it might mean getting massages, going for mani-pedis, or treating ourselves to a nice meal at a restaurant. For others, it might be reading, painting, spending time with pets, or simply being with family. The key is to make space for the things that bring you joy.

At the end of the day, we only have one life. It should be an amazing one—filled with things that light us up, make us happy, and remind us to slow down and enjoy the moments.

8. Establish A Good Skincare Routine

The next beauty and self-care habit I want to talk about is taking care of your outer body—your skin, both on your face and body. A good skincare routine can make such a difference, especially when you incorporate a quality SPF. Protecting your skin from the sun is one of the simplest yet most effective ways to maintain a youthful, healthy glow.

If you have more problematic skin, especially acne-prone skin like I do, regular facials can be a game-changer. My personal favorite is the HydraFacial—it’s incredibly effective, deeply cleansing, and still gentle on the skin. Unlike lasers or harsher treatments, it doesn’t feel too aggressive, yet it works wonders.

Exfoliation is another must for maintaining smooth, glowing skin. It’s so important for both your face and body to remove dead skin cells and keep everything looking fresh. Dry brushing is a great option, but I also love using terry mitts in the shower with a good body wash. I massage in circular motions all over, and it leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft.

Small details can also make a big impact—like sleeping on a silk pillowcase. It’s not just a luxurious touch; it helps reduce friction on both your skin and hair, preventing wrinkles and breakage over time.

9. Have Moments To Be Your Natural Self

The next habit I want to talk about is what I call letting your beauty breathe. And by that, I mean releasing unrealistic expectations of what beauty and health should look like. I love wearing a bit of makeup, styling my hair, and feeling put together—but I don’t always feel like doing those things, and that’s okay.

A great example is my nails. For years, I wore nail polish. I loved the look, and I still do, but I realized my nails needed a break. It’s been about four months now since I’ve had anything on them, and I’ve seen such a transformation. They went from thin, weak, and brittle to strong, shiny, and naturally healthy. It made me realize that perfect-looking nails with layers of polish can sometimes be an illusion—what’s underneath really matters.

The same goes for my skin. I don’t wear makeup every day, and when I do, I keep it light—just some concealer, bronzer, blush, and highlighter. I try to avoid heavy foundations because I know my skin feels and looks better when I let it breathe. And it’s the same with my hair—I don’t always style it. Most of the time, I just leave it in a bun and let it be.

What I love about this approach is that it shifts my focus from looking a certain way to feeling a certain way. Of course, it’s fun to dress up and get glam, but finding a balance is important. Letting your skin, hair, and nails take a break not only helps them stay healthy but also brings a sense of ease and self-acceptance. And that, to me, is the true essence of beauty.

10. Develop Self-Discipline To Become Free

It sounds counterintuitive, but my gosh—my life became so much easier once I decided to be disciplined.

For example, my mind feels so much more at ease when my apartment is tidy. But in the past, I had moments when I was feeling lazy or tired, and I’d just leave things lying around. At first, it didn’t seem like a big deal, but then, little by little, the mess would accumulate. Before I knew it, I had a huge pile of clothes to put away or a cluttered kitchen that suddenly felt overwhelming.

But pregnancy changes you! 😉 I decided to be more self-disciplined and started gently forcing myself to put things away immediately after using them. If I was cooking rice, I put the rice package back as soon as I was done. When changing outfits, I put my clothes away instead of tossing them on a chair. And suddenly—just like that—my flat was organized all the time.

The best part? I started feeling even happier and realized I actually had more time. I no longer had to dedicate an hour to tidying up because nothing was ever piling up in the first place. Self-discipline doesn’t restrict you—it frees you. It frees you from the stress of accumulated clutter and from constantly playing catch-up with things you were procrastinating on.

Final Words

So, those are a few of my favorite beauty and self-care habits that I absolutely love! These little routines and mindset shifts have made such a difference in my life, and I hope they can inspire you too.

Now, I’d love to hear from you! What are some of your favorite self-care habits? Let me know in the comments below—I can’t wait to read them!
